2.1  Data collection and processing/ log files

finanzen.net GmbH collects and processes information to be able to continue offering you optimal services in the future. These data are not evaluated on a personal basis. When you visit our website, generally only the address of your internet service provider, such as the IP address or URL, name of the referring website, the page you visit on our website, as well as the date and duration of your visit are recorded. In addition, we also store information on the status and amount of data transmitted within the scope of this request, including the product details, product version, and the type of browser and operating system you use. This information is only processed internally and is not passed on to third parties. In addition, no personal user profiles are created. This information is, for example, used internally to compile statistics about the most frequently visited pages, which enables us to better understand the information that you are looking for. The data collection helps us with the operation of our website, mostly with identification and elimination of errors, assessment of the website utilization, and to make appropriate modifications and improvements. (Legal basis: Art. 6 Para. 1 p. 1 (f) of the GDPR). These data are deleted regularly. Additional personal data, such as name, address, email address, and phone number, are stored separately and only if you have expressly agreed to this in the context of our personalized services. For example, this takes place in the case of closed user groups in the “myFinanzen” section, where you can subscribe to newsletters, register for the use of the sample depot, and enjoy other services provided by finanzen.net GmbH. This requires you to fill in the so-called mandatory fields – meaning it is always clear which data are stored and processed with your consent in order for you to use the respective service (legal basis Art. 6 para. 1 (a) of the GDPR). We only use the data you provide in this context to offer you the requested service and within the scope of your consent. If you would like to cancel one of these services, the data you provided within the context of the respective service will be deleted.

We use the services of kajomi GmbH to send our newsletters. kajomi processes the user data (master data, email addresses) provided with the users’ consent to send the newsletter on behalf of finanzen.net (“order processing” in accordance with Art. 28 of the GDPR). finanzen.net has concluded an order processing contract with kajomi in accordance with Art. 28 of the GDPR, which ensures that kajomi is only permitted to process the data in compliance with the instructions given by finanzen.net.

2.2  Utilization and disclosure of personal information

We treat all your personal data with the utmost confidentiality and do not pass these on to third parties. The personal data are only used for provision of the requested services, to answer your questions, and for internal compilation of statistics (legal basis Art. 6 Para. 1 p. 1 (f) of the GDPR). Exceptions only exist for services that require your consent for use of additional personal data (legal basis Art. 6 Par. 1 p. 1 (a) of the GDPR) and in case of legal obligations to pass on your data to state institutions and authorities (legal basis Art. 6 Para. 1 p. 1 (c) of the GDPR). Data which we have collected with your consent shall only be passed on to business partners and sponsors within the framework of contractual agreements as far as is necessary, for example in a raffle (legal basis Art. 6 Para. 1 p. 1 (f) of the GDPR). It goes without saying that our business partners and sponsors are required to comply with the statutory data protection regulations. Insofar as we advertise for other companies on our website, such advertisements will be marked accordingly.

Similarly, when you leave this website, we will clearly point out that you are accessing a different Internet service provider. If this has not already been made clear through text, we will mark the link of the third-party page as an “external link”. Our website has links to our pages on different social media platforms. We would like to point out that clicking on these links redirects you from our website and you are no longer within the application scope of this privacy policy. The social media platforms are only subject to the privacy policies and conditions of use of the respective operators.

We generally delete personal data once these are no longer required for the use of the service or if you revoke your consent to the processing of your personal data, subject to applicable statutory retention requirements.

2.3  Consent

We shall record your consent to data processing. If required, we will inform you when and how you gave your consent. Should you not give your consent, we kindly ask you to understand that you may not be able to use the respective service.

2.4  Data security

We employ extensive technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal data from intentional manipulation, loss, or access by unauthorized third parties. These measures are optimized continuously, in line with technological developments and applicable data protection laws. Nonetheless, we would like to point out that despite our security measures, the information that you voluntarily share over the Internet may still be accessed by third parties. We therefore cannot assume any liability for errors in data transmission or unauthorized access to your data by third parties.

2.5  Cookies

Cookies are very small text files used by webpages that are stored on your computer by your browser for the provision of certain information. Cookies cannot run programs or transmit viruses to your computer.

Transient cookies are deleted automatically when you close your browser. Such cookies include session cookies, which store a so-called session ID with which various requests from your browser can be associated with the common session. This makes it possible to recognize your computer when you visit our website again. Session cookies are deleted when you log out or close the browser.

Persistent cookies are deleted automatically after a specified duration, which may differ depending on the cookie. You can delete the cookies in the security settings of your browser at any time.

This information helps us optimize our services and offer you more comfort while browsing our pages. The legal basis for the processing of your data is Art. 6 Para. 1 p. 1 (f) of the GDPR.

You can configure your browser to notify you as soon as a web server wants to send you a cookie. This allows you to accept or reject the cookie. You can thereby configure your browser settings according to your preferences, e.g., to accept all third-party cookies or reject all cookies. Please note that by doing this, you might not be able to use all features of this website. You can find more information in the help section of your browser.

3    Use of the Scalable Central Measurement Method (INFOnline)

Our website uses the Scalable Central Measurement Method of INFOnline GmbH (https://www.INFOnline.de) to determine statistical parameters on the use of our services. The purpose of this is to statistically determine the number of visits on our website, the number of visitors, and the surfing behavior – based on a uniform analytical method – and thereby obtain comparable values across the market. For all digital offers of members of the Association for Determination of Dissemination of Advertising Media (IVW - http://www.ivw.eu) or Working Group for Online Media Research (AGOF - http://www.agof.de), the usage statistics are regularly processed into ranges by AGOF and AGMA (Arbeitsgemeinschaft Media-Analyse e.V. http://www.agma-mmc.de) and published by the IVW with the “unique user” as well as “page impression” and “visits” performance value . These ranges and statistics can be viewed on the respective websites.

The analysis using the Scalable Central Measurement Method by INFOnline GmbH is performed with legitimate interest in accordance with Art. 6 Par. 1 (f) of the GDPR. The processing of your personal data is intended for statistical compilation and formation of user categories. The statistics help analyze and substantiate the use of our services. The user categories form the basis for an interest-oriented alignment of advertising material and measures. To market this website, a user analysis, which ensures comparability with other market participants, is essential. Our legitimate interest stems from the economic usability of the findings from the statistical analysis and user categories as well as the market value of our website – also in direct comparison with third-party websites – which can be determined through the statistics. In addition, we have a legitimate interest in availing the pseudonymized data of INFOnline, AGOF, and IVW for purposes of market research (AGOF, agma) as well as for statistical purposes (INFOnline, IVW). We also have a legitimate interest in making the pseudonymized data of INFOnline available for further development and provision of interest-oriented advertising material.

INFOnline GmbH collects the following data, which have a personal reference according to the EU GDPR:

  • IP address: Every device requires a unique address in order to transmit data on the Internet. This is known as the IP address and is recorded, temporarily or permanently, due to the Internet’s technical functionality. The IP addresses are shortened by 1 byte before any form of processing takes place. They are only processed anonymously. The truncated IP addresses are neither stored nor further processed.
  • A randomly generated client identifier: For range analysis that enables recognition of computers when they visit the website again, an “ioam.de” cookie, a “local storage object”, or a signature is used. These are created based on your browser information that is transmitted automatically. This identifier is unique for each browser as long as the cookie or local storage object is not deleted. Data measurement and the subsequent allocation to the respective client identifier is therefore also possible if you visit other websites that employ the Scalable Central Measurement Method of INFOnline GmbH. The cookie is valid for a maximum of 1 year.

The INFOnline GmbH measurement method which is used on this website helps compile the website usage data. The purpose of this is to determine performance values such as page impressions, visits, and clients as well as determine additional metrics (e.g., qualified clients). The measured data are also used for the following:

  • So-called geolocalization, i.e. the assignment of a website visit to the location from which the page was accessed. This is based only on the anonymized IP address and only up to the geographical level of the federal states/regions. The geographical information obtained this way does not allow conclusions on the specific location of the user.
  • The usage data of a technical client (e.g., a browser on a device) are merged across the web pages and stored in a database. This information is used for technical assessment of the social information aspects of age and gender and transmitted to the service provider of AGOF for further range processing. The AGOF study uses a random sample to technically assess societal traits that fall into the following categories: age, gender, nationality, occupation, marital status, general household data, household income, place of residence, Internet usage, online interests, place of use, user type.

INFOnline GmbH does not store the full IP address. The shortened IP address is only stored for a maximum of 60 days. The usage data, together with the unique identifier, are stored for a maximum of 6 months.

Neither the full IP address nor the shortened IP address are passed on to third parties. As for the AGOF study, data with client identifiers are sent to the following service providers of AGOF:

If you do not want your data to be used in the analysis, you can revoke your consent under the following link: https://optout.ioam.de. To guarantee exclusion from the analysis, it is technically necessary to set an opt-out cookie. Should you delete the cookie from your browser, you will have to repeat the opt-out process using the above link.

More information on data protection in the measurement method can be found on the website of INFOnline GmbH website (https://www.infonline.de), the company that operates the measurement process, and on the data protection websites of AGOF (http://www.agof.de/datenschutz) and IVW (http://www.ivw.eu).

4    Google advertising network

a.) Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service offered by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies”. These are text files that are stored on your computer and that enable the analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. In case the IP anonymization function is activated on this website, the IP addresses of users within the member states of the European Union or other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area are truncated by Google beforehand. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be sent to a Google server in the US and truncated there. Google will use this information to analyze your use of this website, compile reports on website activity, and provide other services related to the website activity and internet usage on behalf of the website operator. The IP address transmitted by your browser to Google Analytics is not merged with other Google data. You can configure your browser to block the use of cookies; however, we would like to point out that disabling the use of cookies may limit the functionality of this website. In addition, you may prevent the cookie from collecting and transmitting your website usage data (incl. your IP address) to Google as well as the processing of these data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin available from following link http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.

This website uses Google Analytics with the “_anonymizeIp()” extension. This truncates the IP addresses before they are further processed to rule out a direct personal reference.

We use Google Analytics to analyze the usage of our website and regularly optimize it. The statistics enable us to improve our services and make them more interesting to you as a user. For the exceptional cases in which personal data are transmitted to the US, Google is subject to the EU-US Privacy Shield. The legal basis for the use of Google Analytics is Art. 6 Para. 1 p. 1(f) of the GDPR.

More information on the data processing by Google can be found in Google’s privacy policy: http://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy.

b.) Google AdSense

(1) This website Google AdSense, Google’s online advertising service that allows us to present advertising content tailored to your interests. We use it with the aim of presenting you with advertisements that may be of interest to you and thus make our website more interesting to you. For this purpose, statistical information about you is collected and processed by our advertising partners. These advertisements are marked accordingly with a “Google ads” reference.

When you visit our website, Google receives the information that you have accessed our website. Google uses a web beacon to set a cookie on your computer. The information specified under “Log files” in this privacy policy is transmitted to Google. We have no influence on the collected data, nor are we aware of the full extent of the data collection or duration of storage. Your data are transmitted to the US and processed there. If you are logged in to your Google Account, your data can be associated with your profile. If you do not want your usage data to be associated with your Google profile, you will need to log out. These data may also be shared with Google’s sub-contractors, third parties, and government agencies. The legal basis for the processing of your data is Art. 6 Para. 1 p. 1 (f) of the GDPR. This website also contains Google AdSense advertisements of third-party providers. The aforementioned data can be passed on to these third-party providers (specified at https://support.google.com/dfp_sb/answer/94149).

You can prevent the installation of Google AdSense cookies in different ways: a) by configuring your browser accordingly; in particular, blocking the use of third-party cookies will prevent you from receiving any third-party advertisements; b) by deactivating the interest-oriented advertisements from Google through the following link http://www.google.de/ads/preferences, whereby this setting is deleted if you delete your cookies; c) by deactivating the interest-oriented advertisements of service providers who are part of the “About Ads” self-regulating campaign by using the following link http://www.aboutads.info/choices, whereby this setting is deleted if you delete your cookies; d) through permanent deactivation in Firefox, Internet Explorer, or Google Chrome using the following link http://www.google.com/settings/ads/plugin. We would like to point out that if you do this, you may not be able to use all the features of our website.

You can receive further information on the purpose and scope of the data collection and processing, as well as additional information on the applicable laws and configuration options for protection of your privacy sphere, from: Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheater Parkway, Mountainview, California 94043, USA; data privacy regulations for advertisement: http://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/technologies/ads. Google is subject to the EU-US Privacy Shield.

c.) Google AdWords Conversion Tracking

We use Google AdWords to draw attention to our offers using advertising means (so-called Google AdWords) on third-party websites. The data collected from the advertisement campaigns enable us to assess the success of the individual advertisement measures. This allows us to present you with advertisements that match your interests, make our website more interesting to you, and achieve a fair calculation of advertising costs.

These advertising materials are supplied by Google through so-called “ad servers”. Here, we use ad server cookies with which certain performance metrics, e.g., display of ads or user clicks, can be measured. Google AdWords sets a cookie on your PC when you access our website through a Google ad. These cookies are only valid for 30 days and are not intended to identify you personally. A unique cookie ID, number of ad impressions per placement (frequency), last impression (relevant to post-view conversions), and opt-out information (indicating that the user no longer wants to be addressed) are usually stored as analysis values for this cookie.

These cookies make it possible for Google to recognize your internet browser. If a user visits certain pages on an AdWords customer’s website and the cookie stored on their computer has not expired, Google and the customer are able to detect that the user has clicked on the ad and was redirected to that page. Every AdWords customer is assigned a different cookie. Cookies can therefore not be tracked via the websites of the AdWords customers. We ourselves do not collect or process any personal data in the advertising measures. We only receive statistical evaluations provided by Google. These statistical evaluations enable us to assess which of our advertising measures are effective. We do not receive any more data from the use of the advertising material. In particular, we cannot identify the user based on this information.

Owing to the marketing tools employed, your browser automatically establishes a direct connection to the Google server. We have no control over the extent and further use of the data collected by Google through this tool and are therefore informing you according to our current knowledge: Through the incorporation of AdWords Conversion, Google receives information that you visited the corresponding page on our website or clicked on our advertisement. If you are logged in to a service provided by Google, Google can associate the visit with your account. Even if you are not registered with or logged in to Google, there is still the possibility of the service provider determining and storing your IP address.

You can opt out of this tracking process in several ways: a) by configuring your browser accordingly; in particular, blocking third-party cookies prevents you from receiving any third-party advertisements; b) by deactivating conversion tracking cookies by configuring your browser to block cookies from the www.googleadservices.com domain, or https://www.google.de/settings/ads, whereby this setting is deleted if you delete your browser cookies; c) by deactivating the interest-based advertisements of service providers who are part of the “About Ads” self-regulating campaign through the following link http://www.aboutads.info/choices, whereby this setting is deleted if you delete your cookies; d) through permanent deactivation in Firefox, Internet Explorer, or Google Chrome using the following link http://www.google.com/settings/ads/plugin. We would like to point out that if you do this, you may not be able to use all the features of our website.

The legal basis for the processing of your data is Art. 6 Para. 1 p. 1 (f) of the GDPR. More information about Google’s privacy policy can be found at: http://www.google.com/intl/de/policies/privacy. Google is subject to the EU-US Privacy Shield.

d.) Google Remarketing

Besides AdWords Conversion, we also use the Google Remarketing application. This is a method which also enables us to address your interests. The application allows you to see our ads after visiting our website as you continue to browse the internet. This is made possible by cookies saved on your browser, with which your user behavior is recorded and analyzed by Google when you visit various websites. This way, Google can identify your previous visit of our website. According to Google, data collecting within the framework of the Remarketing application are not merged with your personal data which may be stored by Google. Google particularly asserts that the Remarketing data are first pseudonymized before processing.

e.) DoubleClick by Google

This website also uses DoubleClick, Google’s online marketing tool. DoubleClick sets cookies aimed at displaying ads that are relevant to users, improving campaign performance reports, or preventing the same ads from being displayed to the user multiple times. Google uses a cookie ID to determine which ads are running on which browser and can therefore prevent these from being displayed multiple times. Furthermore, DoubleClick can also track conversions related to ad requests using so-called cookie IDs. For instance, this is the case if a user views a DoubleClick ad and then visits the advertiser’s website using the same browser and places an order. According to Google, DoubleClick cookies do not collect any personal data.

Owing to the marketing tools employed, your browser automatically establishes a direct connection to the Google server. We have no control over the extent and further use of the data collected by Google using this tool and are therefore informing you according to our current knowledge: Through the incorporation of DoubleClick, Google receives information that you visited the corresponding page on our website or clicked on our advertisement. If you are logged in to a service provided by Google, Google can associate the visit with your account. Even if you are not registered with or logged in to Google, there is still the possibility of the service provider determining and storing your IP address.

You can opt out of this tracking process in several ways: a) by configuring your browser accordingly; in particular, blocking third-party cookies prevents you from receiving any third-party advertisements; b) by deactivating conversion tracking cookies by configuring your browser to block cookies from the www.googleadservices.com domain, or https://www.google.de/settings/ads, whereby this setting is deleted if you delete your browser cookies; c) by deactivating the interest-based advertisements of service providers who are part of the “About Ads” self-regulating campaign through the following link http://www.aboutads.info/choices, whereby this setting is deleted if you delete your browser cookies; d) through permanent deactivation in Firefox, Internet Explorer, or Google Chrome using the following link http://www.google.com/settings/ads/plugin. We would like to point out that if you do this, you may not be able to use all the features of our website.

The legal basis for the processing of your data is Art. 6 Para. 1 p. 1 (f) of the GDPR. More information about Google’s DoubleClick can be found at: https://www.google.de/doubleclick and http://support.google.com/adsense/answer/2839090 http://www.google.com/intl/de/policies/privacy. Information about Google’s general privacy policy is available at https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy. Alternatively, you can also visit the Network Advertising Initiative (NAI) website at http://www.networkadvertising.org. Google is subject to the EU-US Privacy Shield.

We neither have control over the collected data and data processing operations nor are we aware of the full scope of the data collection, its purposes, or retention periods. As per our knowledge, the data transmitted include the URL of the page visited, the IP address you use, and/or another platform-dependent identifier. If you are also logged in on the respective social media platform, the respective operator can associate your visit to these websites with your user account.

The plugins allow us to offer you the possibility of interacting through social networks and with other users. As such, they help us improve our services and make them more interesting to you as a user. The legal basis for the use of the plugins is Art. 6 Para. 1 p. 1 (f) of the GDPR.

8.1  Data collection and processing

You shall be able to use a large part of our App services without having to disclose your identity, i.e. without us collecting any of your personal data. However, if you register for our personalized services we shall ask you for your email address and for the specification of a password to be determined by you. Mandatory fields that need to be filled out and completed correspondingly will be clearly marked, making it transparent for you at all times which data you are required to enter and which of these will be stored in order to use the services. Following the completion of your registration, we will send you a confirmation email. Only after your confirmation of this email will we use and process the data you provided; otherwise, the respective data will be deleted again after a short period of time. If you wish to unsubscribe to this service at a later point in time, your personal data will be deleted again. Deutsche Börse AG will not transfer any of your data to non-EU countries without your explicit consent. We shall only collect your IP address in a shortened form (including during the registration process), so that it will not be possible to relate this address to you personally.

In association with the retrieval of information requested by you, data will be stored on our servers - following your registration - to provide the respective services (especially for storing offers/services marked by you as interesting), which possibly may permit personal identification (such as date, time, pages visited and the IP address in shortened form). This information will be deleted, provided its storage is no longer required.

8.2  User behavior

Any evaluation of your personal user behaviour will not take place in relation to the App. The right to statistical evaluation of pseudonymized or anonymized data relating to your user behaviour shall remain reserved. Such information may be stored for system safety reasons (for the prevention of abuse) in the case of IP logs, for purposes of enhancing the services offered and for statistical purposes (number of users and page retrievals). You are entitled to object to any pseudonymous profiling in respect to your user behaviour (please refer to the possibility to file an objection, section Google Analytics).

Any processing and use of personal data in relation to your user behaviour will only take place if you have explicitly agreed to this type of utilization. For this, we would obtain your consent separately for any such purpose outside of this Privacy Policy. Without such consent, your data will not be used, for instance for advertising purposes.

Should we obtain the separate consent from you, you are entitled to withdraw this consent at any time by sending an e-mail to redaktion@deutsche-boerse.com. In the event of this case the respective service offered may no longer be available.

We also do not create any personal user profiles. General information such as when which page was retrieved or which page was visited most frequently will be logged. However, this data does not enable any conclusions about the user, rather they are stored anonymously or under a pseudonym unless you object to this procedure. A merger of data regarding the bearer of a pseudonym will not take place.

8.3  Transfer of data to third parties

Due to statutory requirements, we shall be entitled to transfer your personal data to third parties in certain cases. This will be the case, for instance, if there is a suspicion of a criminal offence or the abuse of our services offered in this App. In this event, we shall be entitled to transfer your personal data to the criminal prosecution authority. Otherwise, your personal data will be stored exclusively in our database and on our servers, or on those of our commissioned data processing providers, unless you were notified that the respective personal data is shared with other companies such as cooperation or advertising partners on condition that you explicitly agreed to such transfers of your personal data.

9     Data privacy policy Sentify

In this website / application / service we have integrated widgets that are operated by the company Sentifi AG with registered seat at Löwenstrasse 3, 8001 Zurich, Switzerland. A widget is an element of a graphical user interface (GUI) that displays in the case of Sentifi widgets information about stock market prices and other stock market relevant news or provides a specific way for a user to interact with Sentifi’s Eco-System. The widgets are integrated by using framing technology. This means that the users are entering the IT environment of Sentifi (and leaving the IT environment of us) when accessing the widgets. From time to time the widgets may include polls conducted by Sentifi AG. The widgets may also provide further functionalities, such as the possibility to send feedback to Sentifi.

When you interact with Sentifi widgets, Sentifi automatically collects and stores, without any action on your part, personal data and other information from you. The data mainly includes traffic and web analytics data, but may, depending on the functionalities, also include clearly personally identifiable data (such as your name, e-mail-address when using the feedback form). By default, IP address anonymization is enabled. This means that each new visitor IP address (ipv4 or ipv6 format) is stored in the database with the last components removed to protect user’s privacy.

Sentifi solely collects and processes data when it has a valid legal basis to do so. The data collected during your interaction with Sentifi widgets is used to analyze the performance of the widgets, to compile reports about such website activities as well as for market research and needs-based design for these websites. The information is further used to improve widget performance metrics by making technological and content enhancements.

The data related to polls are processed to gauge community sentiments on the performance of a stock and sentiments on other financial market relevant topics including the performance of a stock against an index, predicting macro economic events like interest rate hikes, etc.

For further information about the data collection and processing by Sentifi please read the Sentifi data privacy notice.

DSGVO), insbesondere bei der Reichweitenmessung, Erstellung von Profilen zu Werbe- und Marketingzwecken sowie Erhebung von Zugriffsdaten und Einsatz der Dienste von Drittanbietern.

Was sind personenbezogene Daten?
