News ETFs: US preferred shares and natural resources
Two new VanEck ETFs provide access to companies focused on natural resources and to US preferred shares.
The VanEck Vectors Preferred US Equity UCITS ETF tracks the performance of the "Wells Fargo Hybrid and Preferred Securities Aggregate Index". The index comprises US dollar-denominated preferred securities issued by companies in the USA. The securities are US preferred shares that offer their investors dividends historically higher and more stable than on ordinary shares. US preferred shares are similar to bonds in that they offer a very large fixed-dividend component. As of October 2017, the index is composed of 131 exchange-listed US securities focusing on financials, utilities and telecommunications. The securities must have an investment grade rating at the time of issue.
The VanEck Vectors Natural Resources UCITS ETF enables investors to participate in the performance of global stock corporations that generate over 50 percent of their earnings from the production and sale of commodities and commodity-based products and services in certain sectors. These sectors include agriculture, alternative commodities (water and renewable energy), base and industrial metals, energy, forestry and precious metals.
The product offering in Deutsche Börse's XTF segment currently comprises a total of 1,210 exchange traded funds. This selection, together with an average monthly trading volume of around €11 billion, makes Xetra Europe’s leading trading venue for ETFs.
